Maui Wowi® smoothie and coffee franchises hold special places in communities across the country. Party throwers, conference planners, and so many more bring in their local Maui Wowi® franchise to provide great-tasting smoothies and coffee for their attendees.

Those special events can be fantastic ways to get your franchise noticed, and they can also help local organizations raise money. Our fundraising, or “Fun”raising, events let area organizations partner with Maui Wowi® smoothie and coffee franchises to help raise money and spread the Aloha Spirit throughout the whole community.

How Fundraising Events Help Community Organizations

Mary Bigler, a multi-unit franchisee and Area Director for Minnesota, has done bunches of these events and loves how they let her connect with her community through her Maui Wowi® business. She says, “We’re giving away thousands of dollars to area organizations. You find that’s a hallmark of Maui Wowi®, wanting to give back to the community like that.”

She uses her K-carts and catering models to make a name for herself and Maui Wowi® throughout her market, especially at local youth sporting events where she’s worked with volleyball, wrestling, hockey, and many other teams to raise money. And, when it comes to our “Fun”raising, it’s not just the franchisee that gets excited.

“We’ll see teams walk in and they’ll be yelling, ‘Hey, Maui Wowi!’ So, we’re very well branded here,” says Mary. She’s found a great following among student athletes who can’t get enough of her delightful smoothies, and she’s happy to give back a portion of event sales to help them raise the funds that they need.

In addition to youth sports, “Fun”raising events are great for supporting all sorts of organizations in your community. Some of these events include:

• Festivals
• Block parties
• Nonprofit organizations
• Animal rescues
• Graduations

Maui Wowi® even provides support to help franchisees find organizations and events to work with. We’re all about spreading that Aloha Spirit, and we want our franchisees out there in their local markets spreading the love along with us.

How Fundraising Events Help Franchisees

These events have many benefits for the franchisee as well. Aside from the obvious joy of helping local organizations, a great event can bring in more business by helping you book the next event, which in turn can help you book even more.

Barbara Putman, a multi-unit franchisee and Director of Regional Support for areas in Southern California, says, “When we started, my husband and I pretty much worked side by side at all of the events. And every time we worked an event, we were asked to do another event.” Bringing the Aloha Spirit to one event helped Barbara find even more opportunities to share her smoothies and coffee franchise with her community. She even got creative with her placement.

She set up one of her carts at a permanent location outside a local health center, giving customers access to healthy treats in a health-conscious environment. And it was all thanks to a previous event. “For UCSD Health Center, they called me. They found me from one of the tournaments that we go to. So, they were familiar with our brand already and gave me a call to see if it was something that I’d be interested in doing.”

Barbara and Mary have helped their businesses and their communities by giving back in a big way. And Maui Wowi® is proud to be a part of that community connection.
