Our newest franchisees had a blast in Denver, Colorado spending five days in training learning the business and receiving hands-on support and in-depth knowledge on everything Maui Wowi®. Hema Patel came in from Bakersfield, California, and she will be opening a Maui Wowi retail location. Scott Whittington and Owen Kirby were also in town from Santa Cruz, California. They will be ramping up with the mobile Ka’anapali Cart.
The first day was spent soaking up information regarding goal setting, social media, customer service and marketing. And that was just the beginning!
To avoid information overload, by Tuesday, the group was ready for a field trip to Coda Coffee Co where they did a fun and tasty cupping session and became more familiar with our premium Maui Wowi coffee.
The rest of the week was filled with lots of additional information in all areas of the business, as well as a chance for some hands-on training. The new franchisees took a visit to a local Maui Wowi store where they were taught how to blend the perfect smoothie. There, the group also got to see the mobile side of things with the Ka’anapali Cart. It allowed them to see how it all works and how simple it can be.
Franchisee and member of the Franchise Advisory Council, Erik Boller, paid the class a visit to give them first-hand knowledge about what it’s like to own a Maui Wowi business. This is always a favorite part of training and the class said they thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot of relevant information from Erik.
At the end of the week, Founder Jill Summerhays arrived to tell the story of how Maui Wowi came to be. They all loved her wisdom and enjoyed having the chance to hear the history directly from the source.
After five full days of learning how to become the best franchisees they can be, it was time to celebrate! The new franchisees were officially welcomed to the ‘ohana and each received a certificate of achievement.
