Women business owners are responsible for creating over 10 million businesses, 13 million jobs, and over 1 trillion dollars in sales worldwide. This fast growing segment of women-run businesses has increased nearly 60 percent since the late 90’s, as women continue rising to the top of the economic ladder. Women are creating jobs, opportunities, innovation, and giving back to their communities. These successful ladies are known to give back more of their earnings and knowledge to education and improvement of their societies than other segments of the business world.
At Maui Wowi one of our greatest assets is our women franchisees. They have brought their creativity, background experience, and dedication and put them to use as a Maui Wowi franchisee. Those qualities are what lead to success and women entrepreneurs possess the unique opportunity to use them to their advantage. One of our long-time female franchisees, Cheryl, says she knows exactly what makes women such great business owners.
“I’m a real people person. I’m creative and I have a good imagination,” says Cheryl. “Women are way more empowered now than they used to be. I think it’s that urge to have a business, do your own thing and make a mark on the world; it gives you freedom.”
Becoming a female business owner isn’t always easy. Franchising is a great way to begin your entrepreneurial journey; it serves as a foundation and with Maui Wowi, it also allows a personal touch.
“With a franchise you have guidance. You learn from people who have done it. It’s a really good idea for women who are thinking about owning a business,” Cheryl says. “In a way, it’s a confidence booster once you have started your business because you know you’ll always have backup and support if you need it.”
Women are contributing to the economy, and society more than ever through various entrepreneurships. Maui Wowi has opportunities which empower female franchisees, and we strive to support them and all of our franchisees in their success. Women entrepreneurs are making their way to the top, and at Maui Wowi, they are achieving their dreams and spreading the Aloha Spirit one cup at a time.
