If you think winter is the slow season, think again. For Minnesota franchisees, it’s just the opposite! Thanks to local youth sports tournaments, multiple carts, quality fresh fruit smoothies, and a loyal customer following, Minnesota franchisees are killing it right now!

Minnesota winters are known for below freezing temperatures. Mix that in with lots of snow, sleet, and freezing rain and you’re likely to hunker down and wait for warmer days. Luckily for Maui Wowi, Minnesota is also known for their love of sports. Be it hockey, basketball, wrestling, dance, volleyball, or gymnastics, the community knows just how to beat the cold and have fun indoors.

Minnesota franchisees Mary Bigler and Ross Harried love working high volume events. They are both banking on this abundance of indoor activities and say this is the busiest time of year.

“We have been running full blast,” said Mary. “Not only do we have these large tournaments going on, we have concerts, Minnesota Wild NHL Hockey, and the NBA Timberwolves, along with numerous other mobile events.”

Mary, who is also a Director of Regional Support, just finished up Minnesota State Wrestling, gymnastics, and Boys State Hockey. Now, she’s gearing up for Girls State Hockey. All of which are huge events for her every year. Between her and Ross, they are in five Minnesota venues, catering to college, high school, and professional sports.

  • Target Center
  • Xcel Energy Center
  • University of Minnesota
    • Williams Arena
    • Mariucci Arena
    • Sports Pavilion
  • Ames Center
  • Minneapolis Convention Center

This month, they will wrap up State Boys and Girls Basketball, more dance competitions, and State Junior Olympics Gymnastics. Then, it’s time for graduation season! Maui Wowi catering is a big hit at commencement ceremonies and grad parties where we serve up freshly blended smoothies from our festive tiki bar. Minnesota franchisees urge people to book early, as their calendars tend to fill up quickly.

Here’s a look at some of the recent events Ross Harried and Mary Bigler have been serving smoothies at this winter:
