Texas Maui Wowi Franchisee Finds Big Opportunity at Big Events
They say everything’s bigger in Texas and for local Maui Wowi franchisee, Mark Rome, bigger is better and that means big events! Big as in a 10,000-seat indoor arena; big as in over 500 smoothies sold in one day; big as in, one very big opportunity.
Mark has been a Maui Wowi franchisee since 2014. With the brand’s unique mobile business model, he has been growing his business with new events and venues every year; but he’s had some help along the way.
Directors of Regional Support for the state of Texas, Rob and Jean McLean, have provided Mark with advice and support that has taken his business to new heights. After receiving a lead from Rob, Mark got in contact with the Berry Center™, a large, multi-use venue located in Cypress, Texas. Within a matter of weeks, he was blending up smoothies at a cheerleading competition. He sold over 300 smoothies that day…and that was just the beginning.
From there, Mark had lined up all sorts of big events like concerts, dance competitions, wrestling tournaments, and more; all at this one venue and all thanks to that one lead from Rob.
“Having a Director of Regional Support has proven to be incredibly helpful for me and my business,” said Mark. “I get support from an experienced franchisee whenever I need it. Rob always responds quickly to my requests with solid professional advice. I have saved and made a lot of money by utilizing the knowledge he provides.”
That knowledge allows Mark to continue to build his business and seek new and greater opportunities. Shortly after that first cheer competition, Mark was wowed once again when he sold over 500 smoothies at a dance competition, his biggest event yet. …until now. He recently worked a two-day wrestling tournament at the Berry Center where he sold both smoothies and freshly brewed Hawaiian coffee, and it was a hit! He sold 300 cups of coffee and over 1,000 smoothies over the two day event.
With the guidance and support from Rob and Jean, Mark is doing big things and working big events! In addition to working as many mobile events as possible, Mark also does Maui Wowi catering. From employee appreciation events to graduation parties and everything in between, Mark brings the Aloha Spirit to any function.
